The Year 9 course focuses on good consumer decision making. Students examine this through topics such as finance and investing. Business planning and marketing is also discussed.
The Year 10 course begins with a look at law before moving into the world of work and the issues associated with employment. Economic and global issues are also examined before issues of independence are discussed.
The course examines the basic economic concepts relating to the problem of scarcity and opportunity cost. Later in the year, the labour and financial market are examined before the hand of the government is highlighted.
The Year 12 course examines mainly internal aspects of business such as effective management and marketing. An examination of global business structure and method is also undertaken.
The first half of the course is about the global economy and its impact on the Australian economy. The second half of the course focuses on economic problems such as inflation and the policy measures available to deal with these problems.
