Year 10 Geography focuses on aspects of Australian Geography, investigating unique physical environments, communities and how they are changing, major environmental issues facing Australia and our regional and global role.

  • Year 11 Geography includes the study of both physical and human geography. Topic 1 investigates Biophysical Interactions which includes the study of the four spheres of the biophysical environment, atmosphere, hydrosphere, lithosphere and biosphere. A fieldwork day at Narrabeen provides first hand experience on how the four spheres interact in a specific environment. Human impacts on the spheres are also studied.

Topic 2 focuses on Human Geography, specifically investigating the nature of the world's population and development. Students also have the option have studying Natural Resources, Global Interactions or Political Geography.

Students also complete the Senior Geography Project where a student investigates a geographical issue of interest to the student.

  • The Senior Geography course identifies three topic areas that further develop the two themes of the preliminary course - biophysical and human environments. The three topics are:

    *Urban Places

    *People and Economic Activity

    *Ecosystems at Risk

The topics focus on the spatial distribution, changing nature and future direction of urban places, people and economic activity and ecosystems at risk. Current management strategies for sustainable development are also incorporated into each topic.
