This course initially allows students to explore various aspects of world history. A background is provided by a study of the British Empire and its impact on particular groups of indigenous people across the globe. Teachers them pursue areas of particular interest within the topics of War and Peace and Heroes and Villains. Term 3 sees the beginning of the mandatory syllabus and students begin to study Australia from Federation to World war 2. This course continues into Year 10.

Students will learn about Australia at war and post-World War 2 Australia. This will include understanding various political, social, cultural and economic aspects of Australia's story throughout this period.

The Preliminary Ancient History Course introduces students to the basic concepts of archaeology and the methodologies used by ancient historians. There is a particular emphasis on sources and evidence. The course provides a vital foundation in the skills needed for success in the HSC.
- This course will enable students to undertake a number of case studies relating to eighteenth, nineteenth and twentieth century world history.
A truly Australian subject which seeks to form students in the Ignatian Ideal.
The Ancient History HSC Course is divided into four sections. The compulsory core is Cities of Vesuvius: Pompeii and Herculaneum. The other sections involve studies of ancient societies, historical periods and personalities. Options within these areas vary, according to the interests of teachers and classes.

Students learn about people and events from the twentieth century in HSC Modern History. All students undertake the Core Study on World War One, one National Study (Germany), one Personality Study (Albert Speer or Leni Riefenstahl depending on what class you are in) and an International Study in Peace and Conflict (Indochina or Conflict in Europe depending on your class)
Extension History looks at historiography. The course is divided into two parts which are:

(2) Case Study - The Bush Legend
